Kongsi Raya is OK

As far as I recall,my family had always been on good terms with anybody that we know and call friend, whatever race, color or religion.Rich or poor, smart or dumb, whatever. Every festival,be it Hari Raya,Chinese New Year,Deepavali or Christmas,we always join in the festivities as they would enjoy Hari Raya with our family at our house. Our parents were very affectionate and kindly to all of our friends,no matter who or what. My dad used to call every boy who comes to greet him 'son' and girls 'dear' or 'sayang'. It was a spontaneous thing with him,no bad intentions. Our pals don't come to our house just for Hari Raya, they are always around every day. There must have been something that they can't get enough of at their own home. Our parents and family made them welcomed and accepted. One of our uncles is a Chinese Muslim.Chinese New Year is observed as a festival and tradition. He gives red packets to his nephews and nieces and on Hari Raya he gives green packets. He remained a staunch Muslim until he died. Festivals are not all about religion. It does not mean that you have deviated by joining in the celebrations with your friends and neighbors. This has been the understanding of all Malaysians since ages ago. And then comes the religious zealots ,trying to break the national spirit. Making the meek insecure Muslims remorse and regret. Scaring the non Muslims, already suspicious of the Islamic faith. Kongsi Raya is blasphemy say THEY. I'm glad the government didn't bow to these extreme views. Keep on Kongsi Raya my Malaysian friends.

Yes, passionate muslim is correct. It is never okay when Muslims celebrate or join the kuffar in their religious festivities. Ask the learned and Allah fearing muslims for advice, and insyAllah, the answer will be the same.

For more information, refer to Surah Al-Kafirun. Especially the theme and subject matter of that surah. Quote 'If the Surah is read with this background in mind, one finds that it was not revealed to preach religious tolerance as some people of today seem to think, but it was revealed in order to exonerate the Muslims from the disbelievers religion, their rites of worship, and their gods, and to express their total disgust and unconcern with them and to tell them that Islam and kufr (unbelief) had nothing in common and there was no possibility of their being combined and mixed into one entity. Although it was addressed in the beginning to the disbelieving Quraish in response to their proposals of compromise, yet it is not confined to them only, but having made it a part of the Quran, Allah gave the Muslims the eternal teaching that they should exonerate themselves by word and deed from the creed of kufr wherever and in whatever form it be, and should declare without any reservation that they cannot make any compromise with the disbelievers in the matter of Faith.'

Assalamualaikum saudara,
For you to speak without knowing the consequences of associating Eidul Fitr and Eidul Adha with any other kuffar's religious celebrations, it speaks volumes about your aqeedah.

I would advise you to study the facts and implications of following the stupidity of our former bow tied minister of misinformation before coming to any conclusions that it is 'okay' to celebrate with the kaffirs!!

No one's stopping anyone from going to feast or celebrate with any other faith practicers!

Just stop using that stupid 'kongsi' word!

Islam is al Haqq! You do not associate an Islamic religious festivity with any other religious festivity!

When you do that , you are committing Shirik, plain and simple!

Taubat Nasuha is the only way people like you can redeem yourself when you commit a slip up like this.

Are you aware that you are guilty of associating Allah SWT with 'taghut'?

Na 'uzu' billah!

Yeah, we are religious 'extremists'.

We watch out for 'liberals' like you screwing up our faith!

Can we expect to see you at the nearest temple since you are so happy to kongsi your faith?

Don't earn your ticket to Jahannam by your ignorant assumptions.

The Ulamaks are not stupid in their stand that the term 'Kongsiraya' leads to shirik!
